Do any of your kids question the food you are eating? I have one very picky eater. There are not a lot of foods that she likes. It’s not easy to get her to try new things. It’s even harder if it involves meat…
Do you have any picky eaters in your family??
yes! my 5 yr old daughter who was the best eater as a baby/toddler all of a sudden doesn’t like anything…and it changes daily. very hard to keep up!
My daughter could live off of nachos and cheese. And that’s about it! Ha Ha!
yum, I could too 🙂
My son was the pickiest eater. I worried it would be an issue for him as an adult (I can’t stand grown-ups who refuse to try (benign) food items. I’m not talking monkey brains, I’m talking asparagus, etc.). Anyway, there is hope for you moms of picky eaters. After my son went away to college his palate changed completely. Now the kid who refused to eat fish eats sushi and mussels. And veggies of all sorts are welcome on his plate. Thank goodness for college days! 🙂
Oh thank goodness! 🙂
Eeeew, mussels and asparagus?? Not this adult!!! Lol.
Mussels rock my world. Raw oysters, too. Asparagus, not so much.
Im a very picky eater and it would seem my son is following in my foot steps. Hes only 13 months so im hoping its a faze.. we shall see.
Oh no! 🙂 Hey – did you see my Monday post with your idea featured on it? I hope you liked it!
I sure did thank you. 🙂
Oh good! 🙂
I’m the picky eater in the family – mushrooms and tomatoes freak me out! But, in order not to pass along my issues to my son, almost every year since he was little we’ve grown tomatoes and he’s got to tend them and go pick them right off the vine to eat! He is awesome and doesn’t have food issues – and more importantly, he understands that I do and still respects me! 😉
That’s true. Kids like to eat the food grow they more than store food.
We had a beagle puppy but I just couldn’t take the howling! I can’t believe we have same 4 kiddos and the same dog?!
Ha Ha!! Luckily our beagle doesn’t howl too much. Only when she sees a squirrel. 🙂
At one point my daughter honestly ate only 7 different ingredients (+ a variety of fruit), and I was about to have a nervous breakdown when she then started to complain about always getting the same food – like how much variation can you create with 7 food items?!!! (in her defence, we did find out later some allergies even though initial tests didn’t reveal any)
Oh wow! That sounds frustrating. I can relate to that!
My son declared he was a vegetarian when he was about 5-6 and would refuse to eat meat. I had to sneak in finely chopped meat for protein. It was all because of the cartoon Avatar: Legend of Ang where the hero is a vegetarian. He eats meat now, very little pork, beef and fish but likes chicken. 😀
You are sneaky! Good idea!
Cool is a horrible horrible eater. Hates peanut products (not allergic, just hates them, even Reese’s Pieces). He will not touch a fruit or veggie to his lips no matter what. If he sees a speck of green in a meatball or something, he won’t eat that either, even though he loves them. Crazy. The other two will eat almost anything.
This sounds very familiar! How could someone not like Reese’s pieces? Ha Ha. Actually it works well for me because I love Dairy Queen blizzards with peanut butter cups and I don’t have to share it!
haha!! My youngest is the worse! I made a big batch of chicken and rice soup the on Sunday. He refused to eat it but I didn’t give him anything else. Yesterday was day 3 of the same soup. I thought for sure he would cave and eat it due to hunger but he is one stubborn kid! Tonight we are having hot dogs!
Wow – that is some serious stubbornness, Ha Ha! You poor thing!
Ooh, yes! Joshua was VERY picky. Around the age of six, he started trying new foods (total shock to us, believe me!!) and he completely changed the way he eats! Now (at 9) he will eat a great variety of foods.
My rule with the kids is that (by the age of 4 or so) they had to at least taste whatever we were having. They could even spit it out!! but they had to taste. 🙂
I was picky as a kid too and I wouldn’t consider myself that way now.
Btw, Maggie won’t eat any meat other than poultry – takes after mama! 😉
That’s a good rule!
ha!ha! I love the cartoon! 🙂 too funny! & yes, mine is a picky eater, I have trouble making him eat healthy foods but when he likes something; he asks for more! 🙂
That’s good! I’m glad you find things he likes.
My kids aren’t picky eaters,I think key here is to introduce them with veggies (all sorts) at an early age! Glad I did!No No for hotdogs 🙂
Well it sounds like you did it right!
