Nothing is What it Seems

Do your children make toys out of household items? Mine do.  I’m not sure why we even buy “real toys”.  My kids are always making toys out of things around the house.  In fact, for Christmas, my daughter made me a home made “mailbox”.  It was made out of a pringles can and an empty juice box.  Cute, right?  Really cute unless you have to stare at trash for 2 weeks straight.

  1. All the time! Our favorite has always been the strainer hat! 😀

Ooh, the egg carton is a great one – will have to do that with Samuel! My kids do that too. Toilet paper and paper towel rolls always turn into swords and tunnels (for Hot Whell cars). 🙂

  4. Yup. I often feel like asking the grandparents to not bother with the toy–just give us the box it came in…

  5. so true, same here! 🙂
