It’s Getting Close

I know it’s still September, but I am here to warn you that the holiday season is almost upon us.  With school, sports, and music activities in full swing, time can really fly by.  My kids have already started talking about Christmas…

  1. That is incredibly weird…less than 5 minutes ago my daughter told me 2 things she wants for Christmas….UGH!!!

Ha ha… I was about to write a post on Christmas 😛

Its like as soon as a hint of cool air appears, everyone gets ready for Christmas…the stores sure don’t help matters, do they? I’m as guilty as any, I have already started my Christmas shopping!

  4. Phew! I just posted about Christmas and was like “Listen..I know this is not what people want to hear right now.. BUT… I will continue on anyway about Christmas” haha… I’m glad I’m not the only one aware of the that big day coming up….

  5. It is something that we always look forward to at home!

USA Girl Dolls, ha ha ha ha ha.

  7. I honestly don’t even want to think about Christmas. My husband is Jewish so we have Hanukkah too (which happens to start around Thanksgiving this year – ugh), not to mention a birthday this week and one next month. I’m currently suffering from present idea OVERLOAD!!!!

I just bought the first present on Amazon a few days ago! I go ahead start early so that we don’t feel it as much financially, and it makes it nicer to not have to think about it all at one time either. I’m not talking about having the Christmas spirit or anything…that won’t hit me until late November, but the shopping precedes it! 😀

  9. I’ve already started my shopping and made several presents to give! I’m ready for the kids in my life to put together their list! I will admit that I still go through the Christmas and toy catalogs, there might be something in there that I want!

Before Christmas shopping can even start I still have to get through Thor’s first birthday this month. I already have an idea of what my daughters will be getting as far as their one big present.(a solution I offered the kids once they were teenagers, as opposed to trying to concentrate on matching quantity like we did when they were little to avoid arguments) Our present to the oldest daughter will be buying her a new cellphone, as she is due for an upgrade anyway, and actually really needs a new one. Youngest daughter will be getting an mp3 player, her old used one has finally given up the ghost on her. I haven’t quite figured out what to get the boys yet, Thor will likely get mostly clothes, and maybe some DVDs. The oldest boy is the one that is the hard one to shop for, but he collects coins so maybe I will go searching ebay for something along those lines again. Hubby also has a birthday about 2 weeks before Christmas. I already have a friend working on one of his presents and have sworn her to secrecy about it. (she’s not going to mail it until the end of November as a favor to me) He is ten time worse than the kids about finding out what his presents are going to be, I think because he really can’t handle surprises and waiting.

Don’t remind me! It’s scary how time flies when you’re old. I’m barely getting around to ordering their Halloween costumes.

  12. 🙂 ha!ha! I can’t believe Christmas will be here very soon! 🙂

  13. mummyshymz says:

Haha I’ve just started present planning….

  14. linbritt says:

Argh don’t tell me. I have trouble focussing on Christmas as my sons birthday is Christmas Eve and that tends to get in the way. Christmas is like an after thought. It never used to be…I was always so organised!!!

  15. I actually picked up several gifts this week to set aside for Christmas. Can’t resist good sales and coupons if it saves me some financial angst come December!
